Marketing Funnel basics

Wednesday, April 19, 2023 by Gemma Wilkins | Digital Marketing

As a music teacher, you may have heard of the term "marketing funnel," but might not be sure of what it actually means or how it can be beneficial for your business. In this blog post, we'll explain what a marketing funnel is and how you can implement it using free platforms like social media.

What is a marketing funnel

Simply put, a marketing funnel is a step-by-step process that guides potential customers towards a desired action, such as signing up for your music lessons or buying your instructional books. It involves creating a series of marketing materials, such as social media posts, emails, or videos, that are designed to build awareness, interest, desire, and finally, prompt the customer to take action.

Social media is a great free platform to implement a marketing funnel because it allows you to reach a large audience with little to no cost. Here are some steps you can take to implement a marketing funnel using social media:

Awareness:

This is the top of the funnel, where you want to attract potential customers and make them aware of your music teaching business. Post engaging content on social media that showcases your expertise and teaching style, such as short videos of you teaching or photos of your students performing. Use relevant hashtags to help your content reach a wider audience. This can be achieved by using various marketing channels such as social media, SEO, paid advertising, or word-of-mouth referrals

Interest:

Once potential customers are aware of your business, you want to build their interest by providing them with valuable content. Share helpful tips, industry news, or blog posts that are relevant to your teaching niche. Encourage them to engage with your content by asking questions or running polls. You can also use lead magnets, such as free ebooks or webinars, to capture their contact information and build your email list. To manage your content and email marketing efforts, you can use tools such as a content management system (CMS), email marketing software, or marketing automation tools.

Desire:

As customers start to show interest, you want to create a desire for your products or services. This can be achieved by offering freebies, such as a free lesson or ebook, that showcases your teaching style and the benefits of your lessons. To manage your sales process and customer relationship management (CRM), you can use tools such as a customer relationship management (CRM) software, appointment scheduling software, or sales funnel software.

Action:

The final step is to prompt the customer to take action, such as signing up for your lessons or buying your instructional books. Create clear and compelling calls-to-action that direct customers to your website or booking page.To manage your sales transactions and payment processing, you can use tools such as an e-commerce platform, payment gateway, or invoicing software.

By implementing a marketing funnel using social media, you can build awareness, interest, desire, and prompt customers to take action without spending a dime on advertising. Give it a try and see how it can benefit your music teaching business.
